Hi, I am a bit of a newbie when it comes to DNS servers so please excuse me if I am a little incompetent. I have a clean installation of CentOS 5 running on my server with virtualmin installed. When I try to create a new virtual server on virtualmin, it creates everything ok with no errors. I set the nameserver on that domain to foxlea.doesntexist.com, the url of my server. I have forwarded port 53 on my router but it still does not work. You can see yourself at www.hencogroup.co.uk and even do a whois lookup if you want to see the nameserver.

You are not allowed to make a public name server unless you are a registered domain operator. Your domain needs to be controlled by the registrar. You will also become a target for criminal DNS poisoning attacks. You will be cut off if you persist. All you are allowed to do is set your registrar’s name server A, PTR, CNAME and possibly MX records to point to your site and mail servers. Close port 53 NOW.
