Question by rosyreal: i have a computer with linux and redhat why cant i get internet through broadband?
i was given a computer which was meant to be part of free internet access thing i am not computer minded but the community group who set it all up said it would be relayed via a transmitter on top of flats anyway two years ago and still waiting. they have never got it up and running. i have broadband access but am borrowing a laptop which needs to go back to owner next month. how can i get my computer up and connected is there a way it seem s so sad to have this computer brand new just gathering dust

That’s a problem with Linux.. you need to a bit about the operating system to do things. Contact the group that gave you the computer and see if they can help, or refer you to some one who can.
