Question by : Is Fedora different from Redhat Enterprise Linux regarding this?
I’m a newbie and trying to install some program under the Fedora system. But that program requires multiple packages/libraries in the OS that Fedora doesn’t have. And when an error appears, it’s very hard for me to tell in what package that missing command/library is.
So I’m just wondering: with default installation, does Fedora get installed with less standard packages/libraries than the Redhat Enterprise Linux? Is there an option of “full installation” that just installs all the most common packages for Fedora?
This is making me mad, not knowing what’s still lacking there. Please help! Thanks!

Are you compiling? In which case there should be a list, make sure to install the dev packages as well.
Otherwise you should be able to get most of it through the package manager. You can also pipe output into grep like this “
