Question by Joshua H: How can you use a linux program for recovery?
I have a laptop running on Vista, and the hard drive got currupted, is there a program, someone told me about that is Linux based, to recover files from the hard drive?

Any live cd should do the trick.
You boot from the cd and copy all the files you need towards an external HD.
My favorite is PartedMagic. Primarily used to partition HD’s but it contains several handy data recovery tools. www.partedmagic.com
