(generally speaking of course. I know there are exceptions to every rule…)
I guess I need to know what it really means when an RPM is tailored to RHEL 4, as opposed to RHEL 5. Is it a matter of library locations and what not? If the architecture is the same and it’s RHEL 4 x86_64 going on an x86_64 RHEL 5 system, for example…
As I stated, this is a 64bit OS and I’m looking at 64bit RHEL 4 RPMs. I figured out the answer myself. They work 99% of the time.
